Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary, Thiruvananthapuram
Lying on the edges of the capital city, the Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over a range of 53 sq. km. on the Western Ghats and was set up in 1938. The place is entrancing for its damsite, thick woodland ranges, perfectly clear streams and rough landscapes perfect for enterprise endeavors.
The asylum has a rich populace of mammalian fauna and is developing as a major fascination in natural life aficionados and ornithologists. Asian elephant, sambar, panther, lion-followed macaque, can be seen here. Birdlife incorporates the endemics like Malabar Gray Hornbill, Whitebellied Treepie, Small Sunbird, and so on.
As of late, a joint exertion has been made by Kerala Tourism with the State Forest Department and the Kerala Water Authority to embellish the damsite and give greater diversion/relaxation offices here.
