Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary
The Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is spread over a bunch of islands in a grand region encompassed by hillocks where the Kadalundi River streams into the Arabian Sea. The place is privately known as Kadalundi Nagaram.
This virgin land is the house than a hundred types of local winged animals and more than 60 types of transitory feathered creatures, similar to seagulls, terns, sandpipers, sandplovers, red and greenshanks, turnstones, that rush here in huge numbers from November to April.
A hillock close-by, which is 200 m above ocean level, offers a stunning perspective of the stream mouth and the ocean. Kadalundi is additionally known for a wide assortment of fish, mussels and crabs. The mangrove vegetation here havens otters and jackels.
