Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary

A land-bolted region, Idukki is a standout amongst the most nature-rich territories of Kerala. The Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary here spreads over a zone of 105.364 sq km in the Thodupuzha and Udumpanchola taluks of the locale. Arranged at an elevation of 450-748 m above ocean level, this haven involves the woodland arrive between the Cheruthoni and Periyar waterways. There is a picturesque lake around the haven, secured by a charming shelter of tropical ever-green and deciduous trees, and offers watercraft rides.

Elephants, buffalo, sambar deer, wild pooches, wilderness felines, tiger, wild hog and so on are seen here separated from different types of snakes including cobra, snake, kraits and various non-harmful ones. This asylum lies nearby the incredibly famous Idukki Arch Dam.
